Funeral Costs

At Anstey & District Funeral Services we have always believed in being open and honest about the costs of our funerals. We were one of the first funeral directors in Leicester to display our prices online, along with those of our nearest geographical competitors. All families will be provided with a detailed, itemised, estimate at the time of arranging a funeral, with a full explanation of the costs concerned. We are more than happy to email this to you in advance following a telephone conversation with one of our funeral directors.

Its worth remembering that if you are comparing costs, that the level of service, qualifications, training, experience and availability of staff along with the standard of premises, vehicles and facilities will vary greatly and we would encourage you to make an appointment with the funeral directors concerned and meet them in person and see what they can offer you and your family in the care of your loved one before making a decision based on price alone. After all the saying goes that you’ll remember the quality of the service long after you’ve forgotten the price and we as funeral directors working alongside you and your family only get one opportunity to get the funeral service right.

If you would like to discuss any aspect of our pricing, our level of service, or have a look around our premises, vehicles and facilities then please do get in touch with us for a no obligation conversation. (we’ll even put the kettle on!)

Non Attended Cremation

A Non Attended (or Direct Cremation) is the simplest and most economical form of Cremation available.

It is only suitable for those families who do not wish to hold any form of Funeral service and do not wish to be present at the Cremation.

A Non Attended/Direct package provides collection of the Deceased from the place of death, respectful and dignified care at our premises and a simple coffin for transport directly to the Crematorium, of our choosing, on a date and time of our choice. If a particular crematorium is requested there may be an additional charge.

It also includes our services to complete the necessary legal documentation for Cremation.

Following a Non Attended/Direct Cremation, families can opt to have their loved one’s Ashes returned to them.

Those who choose Non Attended/Direct Cremation because they do not wish to hold a traditional Funeral Service may also wish to arrange a Memorial service at a later date.

Our charges for this type of service are £1,500.00 (this charge is inclusive of the Crematorium’s charges, there may be additional charges for the Cremation Certificates if required).

Traditional Service

Our Traditional Service is our bespoke service to you and your family. This allows a family to choose the services and products that they require. We don’t offer set packages as each funeral is unique to the life it remembers and no two funerals are ever the same.

We publish our full price list and provide ‘like for like’ comparisons with the nearest geographical funeral directors to us as well as their full price lists for our most popular options.

All costs including comparisons do not include any third-party disbursements which are required to be paid by the funeral director on the families’ behalf.
